Nemesis is a bio-engineered Tyrant created by Umbrella Corporation's European branch in the Resident Evil universe.
He was designed to hunt and eliminate S.T.A.R.S. members, whom Umbrella saw as a threat after their exposure of the company's illegal activities in the Arklay Mountains.
Nemesis's first appearance was in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (1999). He is distinguished by his imposing size, black trench coat, and relentless pursuit of his targets, repeatedly shouting "S.T.A.R.S."
